TODAY - Big Discussions Slated for the Wake School Board

The Wake County School Board has a busy day ahead. Word has it that they will discuss year-round schools (especially where to place families who opted out), magnet schools (some might lose their magnet status), and the budget (WCPSS is asking for more money than the County Commissioners have alloted in their proposed budget). The Committee of the Whole meeting begins at 12:00 noon. This is where the board "hashes out" everything. It's an open meeting, but just to listen. The regular School Board meeting begins at 2:00, and 3:00 is the time designated for public comments. Three minutes is the time limit for comments, and you must sign up to speak prior to 3:00 (I'd say by 2:50). I am still hoping to be there, but due to a change in my daughter's schedule, I might not be able to stay past 2:30.
