According to the News and Observer, a seminar will be held on Saturday, October 18 to inform parents about Wake County Public Schools' grading practices, homework policies and math courses.

Parents will learn about elementary school grading, which is based on levels 1 - 4  instead of on letter grades. Middle and high school grading systems will also be discussed.

Parents will be informed as to how much homework is expected and how much time, on average, should be spent on homework each day.

The seminar will be from 10 a.m. to noon in the Wake County Commons Building, 4011 Carya Drive in Raleigh. It is sponsored by the Coalition of Concerned Citizens for African American Children.

Guest speaker is Christy Falba, Wake's senior director of elementary education.
