Here It Is...

 

According to a recent press release:

Tonight, the Wake County Board of Education approved an assignment plan that includes filling 10 new schools opening over the next three years.

The plan includes 24,654 students, 2,117 less than the original Nov. 2008 staff proposal and 832 less than the Dec. 16 recommendations. Grandfathering opportunities provide the option for more than 11,000 students to remain at their current school as long as families provide their own transportation to school.

I'll not slow down for a second as I continue to fight against the forcing of year-round school attendance. This just fires me up to do more!

Important School Board Meeting on Tuesday (Feb.3)

Tuesday is the big day when the Wake County School Board is to "finalize" plans for reassigning thousands of school students across the county. The meeting starts at 3:00, but if you want to hear preliminary discussion, come at 1:00. I have an idea it might be crowded...
